things that are sometimes delightful and sometimes awful but nevertheless inevitable when your toddler sleeps in your bed next to you:
- a big kick in the nose that makes your sinuses reverb
- a head in your armpit
- a thumb plugging up your belly button
- fitful flopping and sleepsitting and draping one’s body over oneself
- an ‘H’ formation when one parent gets an earful of foot and the other gets a sharp uppercut to the chin from a suddenly moving head
- legs hanging off the edge of the bed while the sleeping torso clings to the bed like lichen to a stone
